There is no better way to test your web savviness than to navigate the latest social media craze—Twitter. For the newbies, and those of you who already tweet, here are a few pointers on how to customize your background page. Here are 9 steps to pimp your Twitter page:

1. Login to your Twitter page
2. Click on Settings (next to Profile and underneath your Twitter handle)
3. Click on the Design tab, and select ‘Change background image.’
4. Keep this window open, and open up a new tab to www.freetwitterdesigner.com
5. Select your theme…we went with the blank slate option to make our TFM logo pop!
6. Get to pimpin! This is your opportunity to get creative. You have a lot of options here with text, shapes, and images. I suggest switching the Twitter Overlay ‘On’ to get an idea of exactly what your site will look like. You can add a big logo image and stretch it over the entire page for maximum exposure.
7. When you’re satisfied with your image, click on ‘Generate Image’ to save.
8. Go back to your Twitter Settings page and use the ‘Browse’ tool to upload your image.
9. Save your settings to get a preview. To change your background, simply create a different image and re-upload!

The Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis is artsy, funky, inspirational, fun and also the home of TFM’s new office! We’ve moved into the 2nd story of a building located right along one of ‘the Ripple’s’ main streets…College Avenue. The new space has 3 other tenants; Der Glass Werks, Experience the Village, and a Textile Artist named Janice. Each space has an open floor plan — our space has natural hardwood floors, huge windows, and a great view. We are excited to become an integral part of this cultural arts district and already feel the creative juices flowing! According to Harvard Business Publishing, success is often equated with size, but research shows that most sustained growth companies actually boast one or two highly focused core businesses. As an organization spreads itself out and loses focus on its cores, returns decline and in today’s economy it helps to focus on your strengths and position yourself to beat out the big dogs in your industry. Take one-time food conglomerate Pepsi trailing for years behind more focused competitor Coke, or Motorola and Ericsson trying to catch phone-focused Nokia in the cellular market.

Keep this in mind: The few successful companies that become smaller and still create value are those that restructure to focus on a strong core and eventually dramatically increase their growth.
